Trip to the Bauhaus Workshops

Some of us went down to the MoMa last week to catch the last run of the
Bauhaus: Workshops for Modernity.

They were highly inspiring works, which ran from all aspects of the Bauhaus including almost everything from Gropius’s designs to Feininger’s 1st Woodcut Manifesto to Stölz’s Weaving to Moholy-Nagy’s Photography. Finally got to see Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet downstairs in the lounge. Never before or since have their been such costumes combining puppetry and architecture. We attended Paul Klee’s line and color theory, perhaps we’ll post these exercises once they have been refined. Sadness overcomes us when realizing that we waited until the last minute to view this exhibition….too much to take into the psyche in just one day……still included below is Paul Klee’s “Twittering Machine”. A long time favorite finally viewed in realtime. How amusing to think that this post will now enter the modern day twittering machine seconds after it’s posted. Another harbinger to our culture’s current obsessions.
